​​​Founder Bio: Adam Kritzer is an filmmaker, educator and entrepreneur. His movies have screened at festivals, won awards and been released theatrically and on-demand. In 2016, Adam founded the Art Detectives. He has worked with hundreds of artists of all ages and abilities, both independently and with VSA VT, Vermont’s state organization for Arts and Disability. He is also on the Board of Trustees for the International School Theatre Association (ISTA), a UK-based non-profit that works with over 240 schools in 100 countries worldwide. Adam graduated from Middlebury College and holds a Master's degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania.​

The Art Detectives is something I have been looking for for 23 years. I’ve found my “place”. It’s a place inclusive to the arts regardless of physical ability. The idea that even though I’m disabled, there’s acceptance is amazing. I never have to be or feel rejected (in the arts) again because there’s a place for everyone regardless of ability or mobility device. I am taking filmmaking classes and I absolutely love it. The mere opportunity is a blessing. Finally my disability is no longer an obstacle. An opportunity to say “no”. I’m so grateful to have connected with Adam and be able to learn from him each week. Thank you!

The teachers of The Art Detectives are phenomenal! Programs claim to be student-centered, but I have never seen it done as well as The Art Detectives... Once it became safe to return to in-person classes, we could NOT leave The Art Detectives!!! The teachers and classes are that good! Dyer inspired my son to become more and more passionate about art. We even added additional art classes! It’s hard to believe that before meeting Dyer and Adam, my son had little interest in art. I had the opportunity to listen to Adam lead scintillating discussions about films that he and the Friday Film Class members were watching. He is amazing, kind, fun and extremely professional. I am incredibly grateful for The Art Detectives!"
